Although I am quite addicted to the Arbonne range of skin care and cosmetics, I’m also a BIG fan of making my own all-natural, homemade beauty products. Whilst I’ve always preferred to steer clear of added chemicals and animal testing, becoming Mum to Rei Baby has made me even more conscious of what I’m putting on my body – after all what goes on/in my body can also affect her, especially whilst I’m breastfeeding.
This is such a simple face scrub to make and will last for up to 3 months, and other than the essential oils, all of the ingredients can be picked up at the supermarket.
Of course you can leave out the essential oils, however the oils that I have used (Geranium, Ylang Ylang & Bergamot), not only smell fantastic, but are also perfect for balancing normal, oily, dry and combination skin types.
- 1/2 cup Almond Meal
- 2 tsp Glycerine
- 1 tsp Apple Cider Vinegar
- 11 drops Geranium Essential Oil
- 10 drops Ylang Ylang Essential Oil
- 6 drops Bergamot Essential Oil
METHOD – In a small bowl, mix together the almond meal, glycerine and apple cider vinegar. Once combined, add the essential oils and mix to ensure oils are distributed evenly throughout the paste. Store in an airtight container.
FOR USE – To use, place a fingernail sized amount in the palm of your hand and mix with a small amount of warm water to make a paste. Gently massage into your face then rinse with warm water.
